NISR, Infographic Competition, 2014: Submission extended until 17 November

Every year in November, the African statistical community celebrates the African Statistics Day (ASD) with the objective of raising public awareness about the importance of statistics in the economic and social development of the continent. The decision of celebrating ASD every year was taken since 1990 by the twenty-fifth session of the United Nations Economic for Africa and the Sixteenth Meeting of African ministers responsible for Economic Planning and development.

GDP - National Accounts (Second Quarter 2014)

In the second quarter of 2014, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Rwf 1,314 billion, estimates calculated in 2011 prices shows that GDP was 6.1 percent higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2013.

GDP - National Accounts (Fiscal Year 2013/14)

In Fiscal year 2013-14, GDP at current prices was estimated to be Rwf 5,137 billion, estimates calculated in 2011 prices shows that GDP was 5.1 percent higher in real terms than in 2012-13.


User Satisfaction Survey Report - 2012

From July to September 2012, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) conducted a user satisfaction survey to understand where from and how the users access official statistics, their purpose while searching for official statistics and at what extent the available statistics help them to achieve their objectives. At the same time, the users were requested to share their views and opinions in regard with the timeliness, the quality and the dissemination of official statistics.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - August 2014

In August 2014, the All Urban general Consumer Price index (CPI) increased by 0.9 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between August 2014 and August 2013 is 3.0 percent.

Rwanda prepares for the 5th demographic and health survey

The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) with the technical support of ICF-MACRO is implementing the Fifth Rwandan Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS-V).

Producer Price Index Report (Second Quarter 2014)

The general index for the second  quarter 2014 registered a decrease of 1.93 percent compared to the index of the previous quarter (first quarter 2014) and a decrease of  0.19 percent compared to the index of the second quarter of the year 2013.

The index for local products for the second quarter 2014 registered an increase of 0.35 percent compared to the index of the previous quarter (first quarter 2014) and an increase of  1.26 percent compared to the index of the second quarter of the year 2013.
