Producer Price Index Report, March 2025
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 4.2 percent in March 2025, Local PPI increased by 0.9 percent in March 2025, and Export PPI increased by 10.8 percent in March 2025.
Labour Force Survey - 2025 (Q1)
In February 2025 (Q1), the working age population (16 years and above) was around 8.4 million of whom around 4.7 million were employed, 593 thousand were unemployed, and 3.1 million were out of labour force. The labour force comprises 5.3 million people, which includes both the employed and unemployed population. The proportion of working age population who were in the labour force has steadily increased since 2022. In February 2025, it was estimated to be 63.0 % which is 2 percentage points higher than the estimated value in February 2024 (61.0 %).

To assess the reliability of results obtained, a comparative analysis involving data from other sources was performed. Only vital events that occurred in 2024 were considered for analysis in this report.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - March 2025
Urban CPI increased by 6.5 percent on annual basis (March 2025 compared to March 2024) and it increased by 1.3 percent on monthly basis (March 2025 to February 2025). The annual average inflation rate between March 2025 and March 2024 was 5.3 percent.
