The Permanent Secretary of ministry of Health, Mr. Jean Pierre NYEMAZI together with Director General of NISR Mr. Yusuf MURANGWA jointly presided over a first preparatory meeting on the 6th Rwanda Demographic Health Survey.

Permanent Secretary of ministry of Health, Mr. Jean Pierre NYEMAZI highlighted the importance of DHS as one of the crucial and big surveys that give data for health planning and SDGs.

While presenting,  Director General of NISR Mr. Yusuf MURANGWA talk about the scope of the survey as it covers huge data on health especially, Infant mortality, HIV, Family planning, Maternal and child health, Maternal Mortality,  Anemia and nutrition status and Domestic violence.

Partnership with USAID, UN agencies and others led to smooth implementation of DHS and disaggregation of data to district level. DG MURANGWA added.

The DG of NISR presented the terms of reference to be on board of the steering committee of DHS6.

PS proposed the next meeting to be in mid-October with important funders and another at the end of October 2018.
