Formal external trade in Goods report (Q4,2022)

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 2,021.12 million, an increase of 35 percent over the fourth quarter of 2021. Domestic exports were US$ 373.39 million; imports were US$ 1,493.34 million and re-exports were US$ 154.39 million.


Formal external trade in Goods report (December 2022)

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 293.96 million in December 2022, an increase of 0.81 per cent compared to the previous month of November 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 28.93 per cent on the deficit of December 2021.


Formal external trade in Goods report (Q3,2022)

In the third quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 2,031.24 million, an increase of 48 percent over the third quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 342.69 million; imports were US$ 1,500.79 million and re-exports were US$ 187.76 million.

In the second quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1,767.28 million, an increase of 36 percent over the second quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 331.32 million; imports were US$ 1,257.72 million and re-exports were US$ 178.23 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 304.66 million in August 2022, an increase of 0.40 per cent compared to the previous month of July 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 69.77 per cent on the deficit of August 2021.

In the first quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1486.51 million, an increase of 44 percent over the first quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 280.67 million, imports were US$ 1055.38 million and re-exports were US$ 150.46 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 230.35 million in April 2022, an increase of 3.53 per cent compared to the previous month of March 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 43.61 per cent on the deficit of April 2021.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 222.50 million in March 2022, an increase of 43.38 per cent compared to the previous month of February 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 15.54 per cent on the deficit of March 2021

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 211.17 million in January 2022, a decrease of 3.26 per cent compared to the previous month of December 2021. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 37.89 per cent on the deficit of January 2021.
