Awards for this first Edition were provided by PARIS 21 and UNICEF Rwanda. The support from PARIS21 and UNICEF and other stakeholders were highly appreciated.  The RDJA and other existing initiatives like NISR Infographic competition   are innovative approaches that are needed in this data revolution era to nurture data-driven mind, boost the statistical literacy of the country’s general population and improve the use of data in journalistic stories.

WAY FORWARD

NISR with its stakeholders will continue to organise this competition every year. As we organise the 2018 edition, it was recommended that journalists who participated to the first edition be brought together in a training workshop to get feedback from judges and improve their knowledge and skills in data storytelling.
