Rwanda's CPI up 3.2 pct year on year in August 2017

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation has risen 3.2 percent year on year in August 2017 down from 3.5 percent in July 2017.

In August 2017, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ rose by 6.9 percent.

The data also show the “local goods” increased by 3.1 percent on annual change and increased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 3.7 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis.

The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 3.8 percent on annual change and increased by 2.5 percent on a monthly basis.
