Rwanda's annual inflation stands at 3.52 percent in July 2013

Rwanda's consumer price index has risen by 3.52 percent in July 2013, putting the annual inflation rate at 4.4 percent.  However, the annual average underlying inflation rate which stood at +3.6 % in July 2013 is up from the previous month 3.5 %.

The decrease in the consumer price index of 0.09 is attributable primarily to the decrease in Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.08), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.24) and Transport (0.42).
 
The 'local goods' increased by 4.01 on annual change with a monthly change of -0.04, while prices ofthe imported products increased by 1.52 on annual change with a monthly change of -0.28.
 
The prices of the fresh products had a positive annual change of 5.07 between July 2013 and July 2012.
