MrNdayisabye Laurent, a
Business-Economics-education student of the Kigali Institute of education (KIE)in his essay submitted to the
national Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).
Laurent topped the nine (9) entries submitted by college students to the NISR during the recently concluded Statistics Week from
November 18-25, 2008. The essay contest aimed to advocate among students the
importance of statistics in nation-building.
The
NISR believes that students, being the future leaders
of the country need to appreciate the importance of using statistics to arrive
at sound decisions.
The
2nd and 3rd prizes went to Manzi
John from Umutara Polytechnic Nyagatare
and Kwihangana Felix from Kigali Institute Education
(KIE), respectively.
